In September of 2009, I served as Sound Designer for Neil Simon’s “The Gingerbread Lady,” the inaugural production of the Happy Medium Theatre Company in Boston, MA. The play is about an ex-lounge singer and her struggles with alcoholism.
The production required two songs to be recorded, featuring Crystal Lisbon (the actress playing the lounge singer) singing “Summertime” (from Porgy & Bess) and “When Love Goes Wrong” (from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes). I recorded and produced both tracks using Sonar and Propellerhead Reason 4.0.
